The Delhi Nursing Council (DNC) has initiated disciplinary action against Saroj Super Speciality Hospital, Rohini, after allegedly finding serious irregularities related to the registration of nursing staff. The council has imposed penalties and recommended criminal as well as administrative action against the hospital management.
According to the council, an inspection found that 120 nurses were working at the hospital without obtaining mandatory registration from the Delhi Nursing Council, a legal requirement for practising as a nurse in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The council said such violations compromise regulatory compliance and undermine professional standards in healthcare services.
Following the findings, the DNC imposed fines on both the hospital management and the 120 nurses who were found to be working without valid Delhi Nursing Council registration.
In a significant step, the council has also recommended the initiation of criminal proceedings against the hospital management. Additionally, it has written to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Delhi, seeking appropriate administrative action in the matter.
The Delhi Nursing Council reiterated that all hospitals and healthcare institutions are legally responsible for ensuring that nursing professionals possess valid registration before they are employed or assigned clinical duties. It warned that institutions violating these norms could face strict legal and regulatory consequences.
The action reflects the council’s efforts to strengthen compliance with nursing regulations, maintain professional standards, and safeguard patient safety across healthcare facilities in Delhi.
