Mumbai: HL September 10, 2026
Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has received a reassuring health update from his wife, veteran actor Helen. While accepting the prestigious Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award on Salim Khan’s behalf, Helen told reporters that his health is “very good” and described him as a “very strong man.”
Helen Reassures Salim Khan’s Fans
Salim Khan could not attend the award ceremony himself, so Helen accepted the honour on his behalf. Speaking to the media, she expressed gratitude for the recognition and said that Salim Khan was thankful to everyone who continues to love and support him.
Addressing questions about his health, Helen gave an encouraging message to his fans and well-wishers. She said that Salim Khan is in very good health and is a strong man, while also conveying his good wishes to Maharashtra and the people of India.
Salim Khan’s Earlier Health Scare
The latest statement is particularly reassuring because Salim Khan faced a health scare earlier in 2026. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital in February after suffering a minimal brain haemorrhage. Doctors performed a successful DSA procedure, and the hospital had earlier described his condition as stable.
By May, reports indicated that the veteran writer had returned home and was recovering gradually following his extended hospitalisation.
Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award
Salim Khan was honoured for his enormous contribution to Hindi cinema with the Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. The recognition celebrates a career that includes some of Bollywood’s most influential screenwriting collaborations.
Together with Javed Akhtar, Salim Khan formed the legendary Salim-Javed writing partnership and co-wrote landmark films including Zanjeer, Deewaar, Sholay, Don, Trishul and Dostana.
Helen’s latest comments are likely to bring relief to Salim Khan’s fans, particularly after his health challenges earlier this year. Her description of him as a “very strong man” reflects the positive tone surrounding his current recovery and well-being.
